How to make phone calls with Claude and Patch MCP
Add Patch as a remote MCP connector to give Claude calling tools. The connection is hosted, so Claude can reach it without a local server running on your computer. You still decide which call to request and what the assistant may do.
Connect in Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors and choose the custom connector option.
- Name the connection Patch MCP and enter the endpoint below.
- Connect or sign in when prompted. Patch asks you to verify the phone number to use and authorize the connection.
- In a new conversation, open the + tools menu and enable Patch under Connectors.

Workspace administrators can control who adds connectors. If the option is unavailable, check the Claude custom connector instructions or ask your workspace owner.
Try a simple first call
Ask: “Call [business name] at [phone number with country code] and ask what time they close today. I'm [your name].” Wait for the result, then try a request with more detail.
Ask Claude for the answer you need
Call [business name] at [their actual phone number with country code].
I'm [your name]. Ask whether order #482 has shipped, whether all 24 units
are included, and the expected delivery date. Do not change the order
or agree to any extra charges. If they need information you don't have,
ask what is missing and report back.Claude can call place_call, check progress with get_call, and summarize the returned result. If it asks for missing information, provide it before the call starts. Avoid instructions that let it change an order or accept charges unless that is what you want.
Use the supplier follow-up guide for late shipments and partial deliveries, or see the ChatGPT calling guide to connect another client.
Read the answer, then check the details
Patch returns a call status and a structured result: a summary, key facts, commitments and follow-ups. Your AI can retrieve these with get_call. A completed call also has a transcript and, when available, a recording. The recording can take a little longer to finish processing.
A connection does not guarantee that someone answers or that the request succeeds. If the outcome is partial, unanswered or unsuccessful, review it before asking for another call. Your call history and live-listen link let you check what actually happened.
Connect from Claude Code
For Claude Code, add the same hosted endpoint with the HTTP transport:
claude mcp add --transport http patch https://www.patchmcp.com/mcpRun /mcp and complete the Patch authorization flow. Then ask for a call in the conversation. For Cursor, Codex and other clients, use the MCP setup reference.
If the connector works but the call does not
Read the tool error first. Confirm that the connected number is verified, the destination is correct, and your account has an allowance for that route. If another call is already running, wait for it to finish. If the person answering declines, the assistant should end the conversation.
Start with 5 free US/Canada calls. Both your verified number and the destination must be US/Canadian, and each free call can last up to 5 minutes. Calls involving other numbers need a paid plan. See current plans and usage details.
Try Patch with your AI
Verify your number, connect your client and send a clear call request.
